Batman Cake for Lovers

This was a birthday cake that my dear friend ordered for her batman loving husband. They had their first kiss last year on his birthday, so this year she had an ongoing theme of kisses throughout his special day. She also wanted to included a kiss on the cake. I loved the idea!

The cake is my favorite chocolate root beer recipe. Yep, I did say root beer. Sadly though, you can't taste the root beer in the finished cake. It does however make for the most delicious moist cake ever! The filling was butter cream peanut butter, another favorite :)

For my mother

Today was the day my mother was brought into the world. I will refrain from saying how young she actually is. I know she reads my blog and might not appreciate it. (Hi Mom)  To me she is beautiful inside and out! Happy Birthday Mom!!

The cake is vanilla with a Bavarian cream filling and swiss butter cream.

Miso Bakes Project

Remember how I mentioned I was getting involved in an exciting project? Well now I am ready to share it with you.

There are so many amazing cake artists and bakers all over who I admire and respect. I stumbled upon the blog of the lovely Miso, and she was no exception. She is so talented! She started a cake challenge project and I knew I wanted to get involved. Each month she posts a challenge with certain guideline and then it is up to your own imagination to see what you can come up with!
